There are many applications for which a discrete microprocessor or microcontroller is the ideal solution. And in these instances, designers have a wide range from which to choose.
But there are a growing number of applications where microprocessors of microcontroller functionality needs to be embedded, particularly in the burgeoning system on a chip (SoC) market.
