Going with the flow

Using the LogicLock Flow in Quartus II software for incremental compilation. By Karen Virk.

As the use of programmable logic devices (plds) increases in large system level designs, the need grows for more advanced design tools. Designs are becoming more complex as designers move towards a system on a chip solution and it is no longer enough to have a simple tool to compile a whole design for a chip. Today’s tools need to be versatile enough to allow for designs of varying scope. Quartus II, the compilation tool for Altera devices, is focusing on addressing many current designer needs.
