TÜV SÜD unveils new electrical safety service

1 min read

TÜV SÜD Product Service has launched a new Electrical Safety Pre-Test Assessment Service, which is intended to help manufacturers avoid costly product modifications and time-to-market delays by identifying non-compliances at an early stage in the design process.

Electrical safety is mandatory for legal access to every major world market, and manufacturers are under pressure to minimise both test times and costs.

TÜV SÜD’s new Electrical Safety Pre-Test Assessment Service will ensure that a product is completely ready for compliance testing by verifying that target-market approved safety critical components are being used. TÜV SÜD will also develop a comprehensive test plan, to help the manufacturer achieve electrical safety test compliance first time.

Commenting on the new service Matthew Emery, Electrical Safety Supervisor at TÜV SÜD Product Service, said: “Our experience has revealed that customers find it very difficult to adequately prepare for electrical safety testing. Having the correct documentation, alongside an in-depth knowledge of test standards and how your equipment will perform under test, is essential. Not only will this minimise time in the laboratory, it will also avoid potential failure and the expense of re-designs and retests. Our new service will help manufacturers to minimise costs and delays by getting this right.”
