1U high ATCA power system

Gresham Power has announced the release of its advanced telecom computing architecture (ATCA) power system solution.

Consisting of a 1U, 19in rack mounting, 3 bay power-shelf and mating power modules, the ATCA power supply has been designed to offer 3 x 800 up to 3 x 1500W of power with 12 / 24 / 48V outputs per 1U rack mount chassis and an optional I2C/ IPMI digital interface.

ATCA is a recently introduced open standard specification developed by The PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group. It brings together emerging high speed interconnection and data processing technologies while offering increased reliability and system management for communications systems.

Gresham's system features a universal AC input (85 to 264VAC) with active power factor correction compliant to EN61000-3-2 Class D, features hot-swap N+! redundant power modules with current power share, over voltage, over current and over temperature protection circuits. With ATCA compliant LED indicators, the system has been designed to provide analogue status and control signals and an auxiliary 3.3VSB power.

According to Gresham, the new power source offers operational efficiency up to 89% and reliability of >300k hours to Bellcore 332 Issue 6 (30°C). The power system can be configured to meet customer-specific requirements and all models are CE marked, certified to EN60950, UL60950 and meet EN55022 class A emissions.
