Renesas applies software test and verification to automotive SoCs
With some automotive electronic systems containing 100million lines of code, the test and verification challenge of these safety critical projects has increased exponentially.
In a move to address the problem, Renesas Electronics Europe has selected the Coveritas tool suite for software testing and verification of its automotive SoCs.
Alongside test and verification benefits, Renesas also expects to reduce risk, time and cost.
"We have successfully used coverage driven verification tools for our hardware test and verification for many years to make defect free SoCs," said Keith Kidd, engineering director at Renesas Electronics Europe. "We were delighted to discover that Coveritas' tool suite enables those same benefits to be applied to our software development teams. We can now show our customers that their use cases are satisfied and offer them earlier and higher quality software validation."
According to Sean Redmond, pictured, Coveritas' ceo: "Renesas Electronics' use of the Coveritas Software Verification tool suite proves how our Coverage Driven and Constrained Random Scenario Generation tool suite can reduce complex SoC Software development time to market.
"We are proud to be an important contributor to Renesas' success in meeting its customers' SoC software development needs."
