Motion control software integrated with ColdFire processors
Motion control specialist Movea is collaborating with Freescale to integrate its MotionCore motion processing software modules with Freescale's ColdFire processors. The move, says Movea, will 'effectively enable a new intelligent motion sensing platform'.
The concept, demonstrated at the recent Freescale Technology Forum, saw Movea's MotionCore Foundation package running on a ColdFire based processing platform. The combined system, part of Freescale's Xtrinsic intelligent sensor platform range, supports applications such as gesture recognition, tilt compensated eCompass, and continuous auto calibration.
"The dramatic growth of motion sensing technology in recent years points to consumers' appetite for smarter products that adapt to user intent," said Bryan Hoadley, Movea's executive vice president of marketing and sales.
Wayne Chavez, Freescale's consumer and industrial sensor operations manager, added: "SmartMotion IP revolutionises the way our devices interact with our customers' products."
Target markets for the combined solution include mobile phones, activity monitoring, motion gaming and gesture based control.
