Improved interface speeds high frequency pcb design and analysis

Zuken has improved the links between its Board Designer package and Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) software. The move is said by Zuken to bring a number of benefits, including allowing easier import into ADS of net, component and pin names created in Board Designer. This simplifies the process of finding target signals to simulate with Agilent's EM tools, whilst speeding the task.

"We've been working closely with Agilent from more than 15 years to deliver high frequency design and analysis to our mutual customers and we are pleased to make additional improvements to this solution," said Kazuhiro Kariya, pictured, Zuken's chief technology officer. "This enhanced integration will bring much smoother design and review processes for high frequency pcb designers."
The interface allows users to transfer physical routing structures and board material information between the two environments. Engineers can use the electromagnetic analysis tools in ADS to optimise the performance of high frequency circuits.
Todd Cutler, Agilent's general manager of EEsof EDA, added: "Combining the power of Zuken's pcb design tools with Agilent's industry high frequency analysis tools produces a more efficient design flow, resulting in better designs and shorter design cycles."
