COM Express module supports latest Intel Core processors

Embedded computer module manufacturer congatec has unveiled the conga-TS77, a Type 6 COM Express module designed to support third generation Intel Core processors and the mobile Intel QM77 chipset.

The company claims the module offers improved energy efficiency and greater security due to Intel's Virtualization Technology (VT) and optional Active Management Technology (AMT) 8.0 support.

The conga-TS77 supports the key innovations of the third generation processors such as 3d tri gate transistors, 22nm manufacturing and tighter integration of the graphics core. It also features support for up to 16gb of fast dual channel ddr3 memory (1600 MHz) and native usb 3.0.

Intel AMT 8.0 includes features that make it possible to manage, inventorise, diagnose and repair pcs even if the system has been disconnected, has crashed or if the hard drive is defective. Intel VT allows the creation of an isolated environment outside of the pc operating system in order to manage security threats from the network. In conjunction with the AMT functions, infected pcs can be isolated remotely from the network before the infection spreads further.
