CMOS Op-Amp from ROHM

ROHM is making available a CMOS op-amp that features the lowest noise in the industry and which has been optimised for applications requiring high-accuracy sensing, such as accelerometers used in sonar systems, and optical sensors that handle ultra-small signals.

Tri-stimulus colour sensor

ams has introduced the AS7264N, a tri-stimulus sensor which provides measurements of colour that closely match the human eye’s response to the visible light spectrum.

Buffered 18bit octal A/D converter

The LTC2358-18, an 18bit, 8channel simultaneous sampling successive approximation register (SAR) A/D converter from Linear Technology – now part of Analog Devices – features integrated picoamp input buffers.

Circuit protection controller

A circuit protection controller from Linear Technology has been developed to ensure safe voltage and current levels for 2.5V to 60V electronics in battery-powered automotive, industrial and portable systems. According to the company, the LTC4368 replaces fuses, transient voltage suppressors and discrete circuitry, shielding electronics from overcurrent and over, under and reverse voltages.

Time-to-digital converter offers ultra-accurate measurements

ams has launched a new version of its time-to-digital converter (TDC), which is said to offer improved speed and precision together with low power consumption. The TDC-GPX2 also features standard low voltage differential signalling, serial peripheral interfaces, and smaller 9mm x 9mm QFN64 package.

Nano-power op amp boosts sensing accuracy

With its 1.2 x 1.3mm outline and typical current of 900nA, the TSU111 nano-power op amp from STMicroelectronics is said to help cut the size and energy needs of analogue circuits in a range of applications. These include medical monitors, wearable electronics, gas detectors, pH sensors, infrared motion sensors, and payment tags.

Nanopower op amps maximise battery and sensor life

Texas Instruments (TI) claims to have introduced the first precision nanopower operational amplifiers. With up to 60% lower power consumption than competitive precision op amps and offset voltage as low as 300µV, the family of op amps extends battery and sensor life for applications such as building automation, wired and wireless sensor nodes, and wearables.

On-board repeater to improve on-train communications

A digital on-board repeater from Cobham Wireless is said, by the company, to offer high-bandwidth in-carriage services for the railway communications market, enabling passengers to connect to 4G, 3G and 2G services in the most challenging of environments.

36V op amp features low voltage noise precision

The LT6018, a precision op amp from Linear Technology, features 30nV peak to peak 0.1Hz to 10Hz noise and 50µV max input offset voltage. Designed especially for low frequency noise applications, the LT6018 has a 1/f corner frequency of less than 1Hz. The low input offset voltage is maintained over the operating temperature range and the input common mode range. Open loop gain is typically 142dB, enabling the device to achieve less than 1ppm nonlinearity.

32bit SAR A/D has additional no latency output

A high precision 32bit successive approximation register (SAR) A/D converter from Linear Technology is said to simplify hybrid conversion system design by providing a 32bit low noise digitally filtered output as well as a 14bit 1Msample/s no latency output. According to the company, since these outputs are generated from a single 32bit SAR A/D core, their accuracy and speed are matched, even as the operating temperature, supply and stress vary.

Rad tolerant 36V instrumentation amplifier

A radiation tolerant 36V instrumentation amplifier (in-amp) featuring an integrated differential A/D converter driver has been introduced by Intersil. The ISL70617SEH differential input, rail-to-rail output device is said to deliver the industry’s highest signal processing performance for low level sensor telemetry data.
