Automotive design software upgraded

SymTA/S 3.8 and TraceAnalyzer 3.8 are said to improve automotive ECU and network timing design, analysis and verification. A range of new network analyses for Ethernet, CAN and FlexRay is accompanied by improved ECU features, such as a new results dashboard for ECU timing assessment. A new function allows the import of multiple traces into one system, either from scratch as a new system or as a merge into existing systems.

SymTA/S 3.8 and TraceAnalyzer 3.8 also feature updated charts, the ability to work more quickly with systems comprising more than 10,000 elements and a new drop down button for starting system analysis or either worst-case or system distribution analyses. Interface support has also been improved, with Python scripting updated to version 2.7.

“We have continued to push the boundaries of timing design, analysis and verification with the launch of SymTA/S 3.8 and TraceAnalyzer 3.8,” claimed Dr Kai Richter, Symtavision’s CTO. “With the growing importance of Ethernet networking in the automotive sector, especially in the emerging driver assistance and automated driving domains, we have further enhanced our capabilities in this area and the other more traditional automotive networking technologies as well as delivered improved features and functionality for ECUs. We have also continued to improve the overall usability of the tools both in terms of their look-and-feel and the speed of working.”
