Large pitch board to board connectors

GCT has extended its range of board to board connectors with two families: the BH, with a 3.96mm pitch, and the BK, with a 5.08mm pitch. According to the company, the additions feature the largest pitch sizes available for standard products.

Direct connector with push-in spring connection

Contact SKEDD PCB connectors from Phoenix are said to feature an innovative plug-in technology and can be mounted directly onto PCBs in any position without using tools. The SDC 2.5 series and SDDC 1.5 series are now available in Europe from TTI.

PCIe switch provides fabric connectivity

The Switchtec PAX advanced fabric Gen3 PCIe switch from Microsemi is said to provide fabric connectivity for scalable, multi-host systems as well as ‘just a bunch of flash’ supporting single root I/O virtualisation (SR-IOV), NVMe and multi-function endpoints.

Expanded beam fibre optic connector for tough environments

An expanded beam fibre optic connector from HARTING is said to provide high bandwidth transmission in harsh environments, such as in tunnel drilling and mining applications – where according to HARTING industrial Ethernet over fibre optic cable is becoming the transmission medium of choice.

Family of maXTouch touchscreen controllers

The new family of maXTouch automotive-qualified touchscreen controllers from Microchip is designed for large-screen automotive human machine interface (HMI) designs. The technology brings multi-touch HMI to car drivers and passengers on screen sizes from 8 to 15in.

Bridge links USB to I2S

A fixed-function audio bridge from Silicon Labs is said to provide a turnkey solution for transferring digital audio data between the USB and I2S interfaces.

Intersil announces isolated RS-485 transceiver

An isolated RS-485 differential bus transceiver has been designed by Intersil to provide 4Mbit/s bidirectional data transmission for industrial IoT (IIoT) networks. The ISL32704E delivers electromagnetic interference and common-mode transient immunity in a 4 x 5mm QSOP package that is said to be 70% smaller than competitive devices.

Binder snap-in, waterproof, modular connectors

The Binder 620 and 720 sub-miniature and miniature all-plastic snap-in modular connectors are available from Foremost Electronics. The lightweight and compact non-connected closed (NCC) design features internal seals that provide protection to IP67 industrial and medical connectors.

GTK offers flat flexible cables

GTK has enhanced its flexible connectivity solutions to include Flat Flexible Cables (FFC). These cables are primarily used to connect two PCBs and are said to be versatile, cost-effective and to take up minimum space in OEM equipment.

M12 Power L-coded offers more power

The M12 Power has been launched in the UK by HARTING. The connector is said to offer sufficient power carrying capabilities and a smaller design footprint, allowing users to save on both space and number of interfaces.

High speed connector system

Yamaichi Electronics has developed a CFP2 56Gbit/s host and plug connector system targeted at deployment in analogue coherent optics modules or in CFP2 modules requiring reliable high speed performance. This connector system can support 10 x 25Gbit/s or 4 x 50Gbit/s.

FTDI unveils hi-speed USB interface ICs

FTDI has unveiled new versions of its FT2232H and FT4232H devices. These new configurable USB 2.0 Hi-Speed ICs, which are capable of supporting 480Mbit/s, are now available in 56-pin VQFN packages, complementing the existing 64-pin LQFP package format and will provide engineers with a greater breadth of IO options.
