Family of maXTouch touchscreen controllers

The new family of maXTouch automotive-qualified touchscreen controllers from Microchip is designed for large-screen automotive human machine interface (HMI) designs. The technology brings multi-touch HMI to car drivers and passengers on screen sizes from 8 to 15in.

A fixed-function audio bridge from Silicon Labs is said to provide a turnkey solution for transferring digital audio data between the USB and I2S interfaces.

Intersil announces isolated RS-485 transceiver

An isolated RS-485 differential bus transceiver has been designed by Intersil to provide 4Mbit/s bidirectional data transmission for industrial IoT (IIoT) networks. The ISL32704E delivers electromagnetic interference and common-mode transient immunity in a 4 x 5mm QSOP package that is said to be 70% smaller than competitive devices.

Binder snap-in, waterproof, modular connectors

The Binder 620 and 720 sub-miniature and miniature all-plastic snap-in modular connectors are available from Foremost Electronics. The lightweight and compact non-connected closed (NCC) design features internal seals that provide protection to IP67 industrial and medical connectors.

GTK offers flat flexible cables

GTK has enhanced its flexible connectivity solutions to include Flat Flexible Cables (FFC). These cables are primarily used to connect two PCBs and are said to be versatile, cost-effective and to take up minimum space in OEM equipment.

M12 Power L-coded offers more power

The M12 Power has been launched in the UK by HARTING. The connector is said to offer sufficient power carrying capabilities and a smaller design footprint, allowing users to save on both space and number of interfaces.

High speed connector system

Yamaichi Electronics has developed a CFP2 56Gbit/s host and plug connector system targeted at deployment in analogue coherent optics modules or in CFP2 modules requiring reliable high speed performance. This connector system can support 10 x 25Gbit/s or 4 x 50Gbit/s.

FTDI unveils hi-speed USB interface ICs

FTDI has unveiled new versions of its FT2232H and FT4232H devices. These new configurable USB 2.0 Hi-Speed ICs, which are capable of supporting 480Mbit/s, are now available in 56-pin VQFN packages, complementing the existing 64-pin LQFP package format and will provide engineers with a greater breadth of IO options.

REM Switch chip and RapID Platform support ModbusTCP

Innovasic has updated its fido5000 Real-time Ethernet, Multi-protocol (REM) Switch chip and the RapID Platform Network Interface solution to support ModbusTCP. The fido5000 REM Switch chip is configured via software driver as a ModbusTCP device and is claimed to support cycle times less than 500µs.The RapID Platform – ModbusTCP Network Interface is delivered as a module or embedded design that supports cycle times down to 1ms.
