Development boards reinforce support for 32-bit MCUs

STMicroelectronics has extended its support for the STM32 range of 32-bit Flash microcontrollers (MCUs) with the introduction of the STM32 Nucleo-144 series of low-cost, compact development boards. These boards offer increased connectivity that enables customers to develop applications using any STM32 MCUs.

Industry-leading power density, performance and reliability

Altera has expanded its Enpirion power products portfolio with a 6A PowerSoC DC-DC step-down converter that is claimed to be a full-featured, highly integrated, and fully tested PowerSoC with integrated inductor. The PowerSoC (EN6362QI) is said to be the first in a new generation of low-VIN power products that offer industry-leading power density while improving performance in the areas of conversion efficiency, output voltage accuracy, load transient response, and output voltage ripple.

High performance MCUs

STMicroelectronics’ STM32F767/769 microcontrollers (MCUs) bring ARM Cortex-M7 processing power and efficiency to applications such as portable or wearable consumer devices, smart-building and industrial controllers, smart appliances, and personal or point-of-care medical equipment.

100V MOSFET H-bridge reduces board space

The DMHC10H170SFJ introduced by Diodes Incorporated is a 100V full H-bridge incorporating dual N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs into a 5 x 4.5mm DFN5045 package. This configuration reduces component count and board space, which is especially important in applications that require multiple devices, such as the array of ultrasonic transducers used for industrial inspection systems or found in marine sonar equipment. Other common applications include driving DC motors in 48V telecom fans and other inductive loads such as the coils in wireless charging pads.

Cypress adds wafer sales to F-RAM and nvSRAM portfolio

Cypress Semiconductor has added wafer products to its industry-leading nonvolatile random access memory (NVRAM) portfolio. Cypress’s NVRAM portfolio, which includes Ferroelectric-RAM (F-RAM) and nonvolatile static RAM (nvSRAM) devices, is claimed to offer reliable protection of critical data during a power failure. Many mission-critical applications that require the benefits of F-RAM and nvSRAM also require bare die for small or unique packaging options.

Low power MCU doubles battery life

Seiko Epson (Epson) has announced the release of the S1C31W74, its first product in a series of energy-efficient microcontrollers (MCUs) with integrated 32-bit Flash memory. The S1C31 family of MCUs has been created to provide high performance while extending the battery life of mobile devices.

Read-intensive enterprise SAS SSD

Toshiba has announced the availability of the PX04SL series, a very read-intensive enterprise SAS solid state drive (SSD). The PX04SL series is optimised for read-intensive application workloads such as data warehousing, web servers, media streaming and video on demand.

World's first 4-ball WLCSP EEPROM with multiple I2C addresses

STMicroelectronics has extended its M24 serial EEPROM family with four devices that are compatible with the industry-standard 4-ball WLCSP (Wafer Level Chip Scale Package) footprint. The new additions are also claimed to connect two or more 4-pin EEPROMs to the same I2C bus with an individual I2C address hard-wired internally, an industry first. This allows dedicated devices for specific purposes, such as front/rear camera modules, on the same bus.

Custom front panel service

METCASE has extended its custom front panels service with CMYK digital printing technology, enabling legends, logos and photo quality graphics to be printed on to front panels.

World’s thinnest 1TByte M.2 Solid State Drive
