48V 480W DIN rail power supply has a narrow 84mm width

TDK Corporation has introduced a 48V 480W output model to the economically priced DRB series of 15 to 480W DIN rail mount power supplies.

Its narrow 84mm width provides additional space for other DIN rail modules, or the use of a smaller enclosure. Applications for the DRB480-48-1 include factory automation, industrial process control, semiconductor fabrication, communications and test and measurement equipment.

The DRB480 rugged metal case has a depth of 124mm, a height of 125mm and a width of just 84mm. The power supply operates from a wide range 90 – 264Vac input enabling its use worldwide. The DRB480-48-1 has a 48V 10A output and features a DC OK relay contact in addition to an LED indicator. The output can be adjusted from 48 – 52.8V to compensate for series blocking diodes or MOSFETs in redundant configurations.

Input to output isolation is 3,000Vac, input to ground 1,500Vac and output to ground is 500Vac. The DRB480 is convection cooled and rated for operation in -20 to +70ºC ambient temperatures (cold start at -40ºC), with linear derating above 50ºC to 62.5% load at 70ºC. A high efficiency of up to 92% reduces internal heating of the electrolytic capacitors, providing a field life in excess of 10 years with 24 hours a day operation at 75% load, 230Vac input and 40ºC ambient.

The unit is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1, UL 508 and is CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives. It meets EN 55011-B, EN 55032-B, CISPR11-B, CISPR32-B and EN 61204-3 (Class A) radiated and conducted emissions. The DRB480 complies with EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) harmonic currents, the EN 61000-4 immunity standards and line interruptions to SEMI F47.
