The freedom of choice is a right in many societies. In the desktop society, the choice of operating system has largely been made before purchase, but the freedom to choose another is still there. In the embedded world, of course, there is no single company as dominant as Microsoft is in the pc world. So why hasn't Bill conquered the embedded world? With two embedded operating systems on offer, what is holding him back?
