Spansion has added to its range of flash memory devices to include densities from 128Mb to 2Gb. According to the company, the GL-S range is the 'industry's fastest' and will offer major advances in next generation applications in automotive, consumer electronics and gaming.

Texas Instruments has completed its acquisition of two wafer fabs and equipment in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan. The factory, which will increase the company's production capacity, was previously operated by Spansion Japan.
