Picocell, femtocell SoCs sampling

Following the announcement of the Qonverge range at Mobile World Congress earlier in 2011, Freescale has announced that it is now sampling the PSC9130/31 and PSC9132 SoCs, aimed at femtocell and picocell applications respectively.

QNX, Freescale to develop preintegrated QorIQ, PowerQUICC solutions

QNX Software Systems will collaborate with Freescale to develop solutions for the QorlQ and PowerQUICC processor families, including the sharing of IP and investment in product and technology roadmaps.

Basestation processor family blends dsp and Power Architecture cores

Freescale has launched what it believes is the first multimode wireless basestation processor family that scales from femtocells to macrocells. Called Qonverge, the devices blend dsp technology developed by the StarCore programme with Power Architecture processors.
