QHD HTPS TFT colour liquid crystal panel

  • QHD HTPS TFT colour liquid crystal panel

Seiko Epson Corporation has developed a high temperature polysilicon (HTPS) tft colour panel for electronic viewfinders.

Measuring 0.52 of an inch diagonally, the panel offers QHD (960 × 540) resolution in red, green and blue for a total of 1.56 megapixels. The panel is targeted for use as a widescreen electronic viewfinder in broadcast and industrial camcorders for professionals.

Epson's panel can be used in lcd electronic viewfinders suitable for professional use and offers the resolution and fidelity needed to focus the image while providing the ability to recreate smooth gradations and a natural softness.

In addition, Epson says that the use of a colour filter prevents the colour breakup that tends to occur with other colour systems when shooting fast moving subjects and while panning.

The new panel adds another option to the Ultimicron series, designed to address the high definition, high resolution needs of its projector business.
