Precision high voltage power supplies
Applied Kilovolts' range of high voltage power supplies has been expanded with the addition of the LT range, which offers an increased power output of up to 3W.
Like the company's lower power LS series, the modules use proprietary techniques to minimise component stress and enable low levels of output ripple, noise and drift.
The units are available as positive and negative units up to 50kV, or electrically reversible at voltages up to 30kV. They are intended for mass spectrometers and similar instruments, where extremely low ripple and high stability are essential for achieving high resolution analysis.
Ripple is below 1 part per million, temperature coefficient is <10 ppm/deg C, while drift is 50 ppm/h.
All the units include a differential control input and are short circuit and flashover proof.
As well as powering mass spectrometers, Applied Kilovolts' modules are suitable for electron microscopes, photomultiplier tubes, microchannel plates, nuclear instruments and other applications that require a precision high voltage supply. These include low power Xray machines, which are increasingly used in the monitoring of fill levels in food packaging lines, as well as in medical diagnostics.
