Optical transceiver modules

  • Optical transceiver modules

Avago Technologies has expanded its range of SFP+ optical transceiver modules for next generation 10Gbps Ethernet equipment designs.

The new additions include a 1310 nm LRM multimode fibre transceiver and transceivers for both LR single mode fibre and SR multimode fibre applications with extended temperature capability for enterprise and data centre applications.
The AFBR-707SDZ 10Gb SPF+ LRM transceiver module incorporates Avago's 1310nm FP Laser and PIN detector technology and is said to provide an IEEE 10Gb Ethernet design compliant with the 10GBASE-LRM standard. This transceiver is designed to enable reuse of installed legacy multimode fibre cables to preserve end user cabling infrastructure.
Avago's new AFCT-701ASDZ 10 Gb/s SFP+ LR optical transceiver offers extended temperature range performance and operates over single mode fibre at distances up to 10km in compliance with the optical interface specifications per IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR. These transceivers are manufactured with Avago's 1310nm DFB Laser and PIN Detector technology.
It supports an extended case operating temperature range from 0 to 85 degrees Celsius and is an addition to the previously released ACFT-701SDZ which operates at case temperatures in the commercial range from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius while maintaining maximum power dissipation of less than 1W.
The range of 10Gbps Ethernet SPF+ optical transceivers comply with the electrical interface specifications from SFF-8431 for enhanced 10Gb SFP, as well as the SFF-8472 specification for DMI in optical transceivers. All the 10Gb SPF+ transceiver products are RoHS compliant.
