Low cost unshielded versions of M9 connectors

  • Low cost unshielded versions of M9 connectors

The Binder Series 702 is a range of M9 shielded connectors that the German connector manufacturer has sold into applications such as marine equipment, industrial computers, portable communication and medical equipment. The range has now been extended with the introduction of an unshielded version that offers a 'significant price advantage' for M9 applications where shielding is not required.

According to Binder, the compact design means they are shorter than the shielded versions and are therefore highly suitable for miniature sensors, pneumatic valves and instrumentation and scanning equipment where space is at a premium.

The new connectors, now available from Binder UK, Binder's newly formed subsidiary, are moulded on 2 or 5m long PUR cable, are protected to IP67 and available in three, five and eight pin configurations. Rated at 1 to 4A and 125V, the pins are gold plated and have a mating cycle in excess of 500.
