Integrated battery protection and cell balancing solution

  • Integrated battery protection and cell balancing solution

Texas Instruments has announced the industry's first fully integrated battery protection and cell balancing solution for Li-Ion and lithium iron phosphate battery packs.

According to TI, the bq77910 battery management and protection device can manage 4 to 10cell battery packs and two devices can be stacked to protect 11 to 20cell packs.

The device is said to simplify battery pack designs for e-bikes, e-scooters, portable gardening tools and uninterruptable power supplies. It can also be used when replacing lead acid batteries.
