High performance, low power computer on module

The new CM-A510 is based on the advanced Marvell Armada 510 SoC and is said to be ideal for industrial and medical products. According to Anders, the module offers low power consumption, powerful processing capability, and a rich set of media, connectivity and storage features.

The module is pre-packaged with all components necessary to run most up to date Linux operating systems, as well as an ARM v6/v7 compliant super scalar processor core. The CM-A510 also features an on board hardware graphics processing unit and video decoding acceleration hardware.

The module includes ddr3 ram, which Anders claims uses 16% less power than traditional ddr2 systems. The device has been designed for easy integration in portable and space constrained designs and is claimed to deliver fast processing and internet browsing, HD video playback, 3d graphics, and a high resolution camera interface. Full WiFi support is also said to be available, implementing the 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity standard, and offering a Broadcom 4319 chipset and on board external antenna connector.

For embedded applications, the module has been designed to offer a variety of display interfaces, PCI Express bus, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, high speed USB ports, SATA interface, serial ports and general purpose I/O lines.
