Graphical interface eases designs
The newest addition to Texas Instruments' fusion digital power controllers will be a dual output, multiphase synchronous Buck controller.
Designed to support various point of load configurations, the UCD9220 is said to provide 250 picoseconds of pulse width modulation, a 2MHz switching frequency and high DC conversion ratios. According to TI, the controller meets complex power design requirements in telecommunications, server, data storage and industrial test and measurement applications. Designers can use the digital power designer, a full featured graphical user interface, to configure the device. The UCD9220's digital power control enables full loop compensation, including on linear control. It also incorporates phase current balancing, configurable switching frequency up to 2MHz and optimised power management.
