CMOS image sensor designed to improve image quality
Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced the T4K37, a 13megapixel, 1.12micrometre cmos image sensor designed to offer high image quality equivalent to a 1.4micrometre pixel image sensor.
The device, which fits into an 8.5 x 8.5mm size camera module, implements back side illumination technology and colour noise reduction (CNR) technology. It is said to enable high quality pictures even in low light conditions.
Toshiba claims the T4K37 provides 1.5x higher SNR value than a 1.12micrometre pixel image sensor with no CNR feature.
