16bit delta sigma a/d converter targets automotive market
Texas Instruments has introduced what it claims to be the industry's most highly integrated 16bit delta sigma a/d converter.
The automotive qualified ADS1115-Q1 includes a reference, programmable gain amplifier, mux and oscillator in a small package and supports up to 860s/s.
For automotive applications such as battery monitoring systems in HEV/EV vehicles, fuel or oil pressure sensing, TI claims it offers the industry's only integrated programmable comparator, allowing easy over or undervoltage threshold monitoring to increase design flexibility while reducing board space and component cost.
Key features of the ADS1115-Q1 include high precision performance and component integration, low power for extended battery life and a wide supply range of 2 to 5.5V.
