WEEE not working?

Project calculates that more than 890,000tonne of WEEE is being generated by businesses in the UK.

A six month project undertaken by C-Tech Innovation and London Remade has calculated that more than 890,000tonne of WEEE is being generated by businesses in the UK. London is said to generate 15% of this.
“The UK total tonnage is around three times greater than the Environment Agency’s estimate in 2007, which is based on the number of companies registering their waste. This suggests that companies are still not yet appreciating the implications of the WEEE Directive and are continuing to dispose of waste through traditional channels,” said David Gardner, C-Tech’s senior project manager.
