UKEA asks 'Is regulation onerous?'

  • UKEA asks 'Is regulation onerous?'

Onerous regulations have been cited by organisations in the electronics sector as a significant problem, generating additional costs, while adversely affecting profitability and the ability to compete internationally.

Mark Prisk, Minister of State for Business and Innovation, has invited the Electronics Leadership Council and the UK Electronics Alliance to collate suggestions from UK electronics companies that might help to simplify regulations or repeal those felt to be unnecessary.

To support this consultation, the ELC and UKEA is calling for industry input via a short online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/YXNHFZX.

UKEA executive Roger Rogowski (pictured) said: "Please take this valuable opportunity to raise your concerns, which will help to shape Government policy on regulation. If your colleagues wish to express their views on this important topic, please pass this message to them."

The survey closes on Friday 27 August.
