TT electronics to focus on application needs

  • TT electronics to focus on application needs

Following its recent strategic review, TT electronics Group will be focusing on offering its customers highly engineered components specific to their application needs.

David Winter, divisional director, pictured, said: "The components group is widely recognised for its world class engineering skills and leading edge technologies. The strategic review has highlighted new opportunities where we believe our core skills can contribute significantly to the growth of the group as a whole."
The group comprises Welwyn Components, BI Technologies, AB Mikroelektronik, IRC, Optek and the recently acquired Semelab. All companies will be refining their product portfolios to allow greater emphasis on high growth sectors, including medical, defence and aerospace and renewable energy markets. In addition, a new operating structure is being implemented to enhance the Group's service to its customers and to drive new product development.
Winter added: "The individual component businesses have already achieved strong market positions across a range of product segments. To improve future business performance, there will be an increased focus on developing market leading positions in additional growth product segments such as visible optical devices, power and rf semiconductors."
