TSMC to base European R&D at IMEC
IMEC has signed an expanded research agreement with TSMC, which is set to base its extended European research efforts at the Belgian research centre.
"TSMC strives for innovation through collaboration to provide competitive technology and value to its customers. The expansion of the partnership … underscores TSMC's commitment to increasing R&D for the future," said Jack Sun, pictured, vice president of R&D at TSMC.
By basing its European R&D at IMEC, TSMC will benefit from IMEC's clean room infrastructure – which is currently being expanded to house advanced manufacturing tools. Meanwhile, IMEC and its members will benefit from TSMC's technology roadmap and platform expertise, customers, suppliers, and ecosystem partners.
