Tegra uses ARM11 core, ARM confirms

  • Tegra uses ARM11 core, ARM confirms

ARM has confirmed that Nvidia’s Tegra processor is based on its ARM11 MPCore multicore processor technology.

According to ARM, Tegra is the world’s smallest, full HD computer on a chip. It adds this is the first time that ARM processor technology has been licensed specifically for an SoC targeting the ultra portable, ultra low power mobile internet device market.
“Today’s launch of the ARM processor based Nvidia Tegra is a testament to our long and fruitful relationship with Nvidia, which was one of the first licensees of our ARM11 MPCore multicore processor technology,” said ARM ceo Warren East, pictured. “The launch marks a major step forward in enabling the next computing revolution and ARM is proud to be at the centre of this game changing technology.”
