Samsung Electronics announces management shake up

  • Samsung Electronics announces management shake up

As part of a restructuring programme, Samsung Electronics has announced a new ceo along with plans to change its business structure into seven independent divisions working as separate entities.

The South Korean organisation has announced Choi Gee Sung (pictured) as the new ceo, with Jay Lee - the son of former Samsung Group chairman Lee Kun-hee – taking the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Choi, previously head of Digital Media & Communications, said that the organisational changes were being made now 'to prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead'.

The company said the changes would strengthen the management and unify the control over its memory chips and lcds.
