Renesas' SLP family of flash microcontrollers

Billed as low cost and low power is Renesas’ latest release in its SLP family of flash microcontrollers. Offering 32kbyte single supply on chip flash on a 64pin quad flat pack package, the H8/38004F has been designed to suit battery powered, line powered and metering applications.
An oscillator start up of about 20us using an external resonator, makes it applicable to applications that spend the majority of time asleep in low power modes.
The H8/38004F includes a 10MHz clock oscillator, a 16bit timer and three 8bit timers, a usart, an lcd display and 37 I/O pins. It comes with a 512 to 2kbyte sram and is available with a 88 to 32kbyte rom. An emulator and development tool is also available.
