PSoC platform for iPhone development
Cypress Semiconductor has unveiled a development platform for Apple iPhone and iPod accessories.
The CY8CKIT-023 platform, based on its PSoC 3 architecture, takes advantage of the iPhone OS operating system and the iPhone Software Development Kit to provide a two way communication interface between apps from Apple's App Store and corresponding accessories.
"The popularity of the iPhone and iPod has developers rushing to create a range of accessories; even more so, now they can leverage their multitouch interfaces and widescreen displays," said Norm Taffe, executive vice president of Cypress' consumer and computation division. "Our PSoC platform helps developers quickly design products with differentiating features, make last minute changes and still hit market windows. They can also reuse the IP they develop across multiple product variations."
