Murata unveils ‘world’s smallest’ balanced output filter
Murata has announced the 'world's smallest' balanced output matching filter, aimed at a range of 2.4GHz wireless applications using ZigBee and Bluetooth low energy technologies.
The LFB182G45BG2D280 has been designed specifically for use with wireless connectivity SoCs from Texas Instruments, in particular the CC253x and CC254x.
The new device measures just 1.6 x 0.8mm, and according to Murata incorporates all the necessary rf circuitry of a matching network, balun and filter within a single package.
Compared with a traditional inductor and capacitor design, the LFB module is said to replace 9 discrete 0402 components and offer improved spurious emissions.
In addition, the LFB182G45BG2D280 has an unbalanced port impedance of 50ohm and a frequency range of 2,450 down to 50MHz. Power capacity is rated at 500mW maximum.
