MCU runs from one battery
Atmel has announced the ATtiny43U 8bit mcu, designed to run from one AA or AAA battery.
The part includes a boost regulator that takes a battery voltage ranging from 0.7 to 1.8V and boosts it to 3V – enough to drive the AVR mcu, its peripherals and I/Os. The part is targeted at consumer electronics products.
