'Industry's highest performance mixed signal scope'

  • 'Industry's highest performance mixed signal scope'

Tektronix has launched what it describes as the industry's highest performance mixed signal oscilloscope (MSO). The MSO7000 series of mixed signal oscilloscopes are high performance integrated MSOs with up to 20 channels of measurement capture – four analogue and 16 digital.

The analogue bandwidth ranges from 4 to 20GHz and 80ps digital channel timing resolution.
The series has been designed by combining the signal visibility and timing features of a logic analyser with the analogue and probing features from a real time oscilloscope. This allows the MSO70000 range suitable for demanding high speed applications such as DDR memory, high performance asics, fpgas, SoC devices and digital rf.

According to Tektronix the MSO70000 delivers the widest variety of probing accessories for making both analogue and digital connections to the device under test, with minimal disruption.

The development of the MSO was as a result of a need to correlate analogue and digital signals in embedded system engineering. Because embedded systems incorporate faster technology, the need for higher performance MSOs has emerged. And, according to Tektronix, the MSO70000 series offers the 'broadest MSO portfolio in the industry' as well as the 'best analogue / digital acquisition performance on the market'.

The 4 channel analogue bandwidth ranges from 4 to 20GHz, depending on the model and is said to provide lengths up to 250million points, as well as sample rates of 50GS/s analogue and 12.5GS/s digital.
