Independent electronics distributor promises shorter lead times

  • Independent electronics distributor promises shorter lead times

A new independent electronic component distributor has been established by the Paragon Electronics group to address industry issues such as extended lead-times and component obsolescence.

Vigilant Components aims to provide industry leading services for component inspection, verification, counterfeit detection and avoidance by offering a full range of supply chain management services.

ISO9001 and AS9120 accredited, it is said to provide the broadest range of independent component distribution services to the electronics manufacturing sector.

Graham Smith, md of Paragon's electronics division, said: "We are extremely excited with the launch of Vigilant. We know that issues such as increasing lead-times and obsolescence mean that electronics buyers often have to look outside traditional franchised electronic distributors to solve their component shortages.

"By launching Vigilant, we're providing solutions for these and offering additional services beyond simply sourcing and shipping products. Not only do we test and verify all electronic components we source, but we also provide a full test, verification and counterfeit detection service for components our customers have purchased themselves."
