End to end HD video stream to be demo’d at MWC

  • cellular communications

mimoOn and CEVA will be demonstrating a complete LTE UE PHY platform at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to the companies, the demo will exhibit an end to end HD video stream transport over LTE channel using MIMO2*2 and 64QAM. The demonstration platform is composed of a CEVA-XC321 processor running mimoOn's mi!MobilePHY.

"With the build out of LTE networks underway with carriers worldwide, the focus is shifting towards the user equipment," said mimoOn's ceoThomas Kaiser. "Our mi!MobilePHY LTE software implementation on CEVA's processor technology speeds time to market for [those] developing the next generation of mobile broadband devices."
The CEVA-XC is a configurable DSP designed for 4G mobile handset and wireless infrastructure applications. In its minimum configuration, one CEVA-XC core is said to be able to handle a complete 4G transceiver path in software.
