18 May 2012 Cyntech seeks distributors for Raspberry Pi enclosure Cyntech Components has designed a compact, low cost enclosure for the Raspberry Pi computer and is now seeking distributors to market it to consumers. The enclosure has openings for connectors, including a recessed slot to protect audio and video connections, windows for led indicators, non slip rubber feet and slots that enable it to be mounted on a vertical surface. Cyntech's managing director, Dave Mellor, said: "Raspberry Pi is a ground breaking computer. We've developed this enclosure to complement it perfectly: great performance, attractive functionality and low cost. It adds less than 10% to the cost of the device whilst providing protection for the printed circuit board and ease of use for consumers." Since many consumers (not just students) will be purchasing Raspberry Pi to be used as a media player or some other function, it won't always just be sitting on a desk in a classroom. I believe the Raspberry Pi will definitely revolutionize the computing industry for general users. As stated at http://www.tinyputers.com, not all consumers need an expensive and powerful computer. Raspberry Pi will work great as a web browser or to check your email.
