Cadence improves Virtuoso

  • Cadence improves Virtuoso

Cadence Design Systems has made what it claims as 'dramatic improvements' to its Virtuoso IC design platform.

The enhancements in release 6.1.4 are said to reduce overall design time while ensuring high quality production ics.

The release has been extended to support technology nodes down to 28nm, while 64bit processing is supported for improved capacity and performance.
The Virtuoso Space Based Router has been integrated into the Virtuoso Layout Suite cockpit, making it easier to access. In this way, a 1million net capable router is available to the layout engineer.

Improvements to Virtuoso Analog Design Environment XL include new display capabilities, better ability to analyse multiple tests simultaneously and help for the engineer to pick the best design directions early in the design cycle.
