Axis to outsource Curtiss Wright manufacture

  • Axis to outsource Curtiss Wright manufacture

Axis Electronics has signed a multimillion pound deal with Curtiss Wright Embedded Computing under which it will outsource the latter’s UK manufacturing.

The agreement will also see most of Curtiss Wright’s manufacturing equipment transferred to Axis, strengthening its low volume and prototyping ability.
The deal will generate up to £3million per annum for Axis, which will manage the entire supply chain for the Curtiss Wright range, including design for manufacture, material supply, product build and test.
Phil Inness, Axis’ managing director, said: “We’re excited to be working with Curtiss Wright on this project and, thanks to the hard work and ‘can do’ attitude of all those involved, we’ve been able to transfer the manufacturing processes quickly and smoothly.”
John Hunter, managing director of Curtiss Wright, said: “Axis has an excellent track record in our market for delivering on time and to the highest quality. With Axis handling the manufacture, significant resources can now be channeled into our core activities of designing and supporting world class products to meet our customers’ needs.”
