Thermal Engineering for LED Technology

  • Thermal Engineering for LED Technology

Taking place at Birmingham Science Park, Aston on 11th March 2010.

8.30am - Coffee
9.10 Start - 4.30 Finish

Thermal Engineering - Measurement - Efficiency
To assist industry to design efficacy in a low carbon future
A comprehensive course presenting effective methods to overcome the challenges of measuring and designing LED luminaires considering the thermal aspects. The course will also cover how to mitigate LED performance shift with respect to thermal conditions that are both self generated and influenced by the environment.
• Photometry with respect to heat as an effect on LED performance
• Theory – thermography – emissivity and thermal conductivity
• Mathematical modeling – a systems approach
• Tailor thermal measurement to the needs of the industry
• Practical measurement session in a Photometry lab
• Discussion covering any specific issues you wish to raise to help your technical ambitions
