Video game becomes reality
There can be little doubt that one of the sexiest gadgets on display at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas was a wifi helicopter with two cameras, controlled by an iPhone and iPod touch.
The Parrot AR Drone camera displays the view from the cockpit on your iPhone screen.
Powered by Lithium-ion polymer batteries, the 'quadricopter' is constructed from carbon fibre and high resistance PA66 plastic. The incorporation of mems and video processing increases the intuitive piloting, while also opening the opportunity to play solo and multiplayer games.
The AR Drone can detect other quadricopters and positioning markers on the ground, which means as well as racing the things in your garden, you can annihilate aliens in your living room. A perennial problem, now thankfully resolved.
