That’s the right IDEA!

Innovation is many things to many people. If you asked the 50 delegates at the recent Innovation Conference for their definition of innovation, you’d probably get 50 different answers.
Professor Keith Goffin from Cranfield School of Management said this: “Just because you have ideas, it doesn’t mean you innovative.” And that’s the problem. Just what is innovation?
Matthew White, head of design with Sagentia – overall sponsor of IDEAs –defined innovation specifically. “It’s needs plus a solution plus exploitation. But you need to be able to identify those needs and the opportunities. You need to ensure your organisation can deliver that innovation and manage the risk.”
The Innovation Conference brought together the winners of last year’s Innovation and Design Excellence Awards, giving them the opportunity to share their experiences with those who are looking to follow the same path.
