Dr T elected to US National Academy of Engineering 22/02/2007
 
virtual instrumentation Dr James Truchard, National Instruments’ president and ceo, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, widely considered the highest honour given in US engineering. Dr Truchard has been recognised for ‘creating ‘virtual instrumentation’.
“I am excited to congratulate my friend and colleague Jim Truchard for achieving this great honour,” said Dr Ben Streetman, Dean of the College of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. “His pioneering of virtual instrumentation has revolutionised the test and measurement industry. Furthermore, his contributions to engineering education worldwide have been substantial.”
