Harness tool meets industry challenges

Mentor Graphics has made key enhancements to its wiring harness design to manufacture tool for aircraft, trains and road vehicles. At the same time, Mentor has announced that the whole Ford group – including Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Mazda brands – is to standardise on the core CHS software family of electrical system design and wiring integration and analysis software, along with the harness engineering and costing tools.
The software behind Capital HarnessXC now includes a data driven graphical styling engine that effectively separates style from content allowing intelligent outputs in the particular style of the organisation and its customers to be quickly produced. It also manages design changes – a constant feature of harness engineering – in a controlled and configurable way.
Capital HarnessXC creates engineered and costed harness designs that reflect the full manufacturing bill of materials.
