Power management is, if you forgive the pun, a burning issue. As battery operated handheld electronic devices proliferate, the need to differentiate by adding further features multiplies. However, device manufacturers currently have to make a trade off between enhanced feature sets and battery size.
Managing power efficiently in any electronic system remains a top priority for chip developers, as well as device manufacturers. But it is particularly important for those developing devices such as mobile phones, portable computers, MP3 players and digital cameras.
