Instrument driver expansion

Agilent has expanded its relationship with National Instruments to include NI’s LabVIEW plug and play instrument drivers on all its latest lxi, usb and gpib instruments. The two companies will work together to ensure that drivers will be available shortly after the release of future Agilent instrumentation.
So far, NI’s LabView drivers are available for 750 Agilent instruments – they are free to download at NI’s Instrument Driver Network at www.ni.com/idnet.
Commented Eric Starkloff, director of test product marketing for NI. “This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to provide an open platform for automating and controlling instruments over any communication bus, including GPIB, LAN based LXI, PCI Express, PXI, Serial or USB.”
