Link speeds code development 28/07/2006

Texas Instruments and The MathWorks have release Link for Code Composer Studio Development Tools 2, which enables developers deploying embedded systems on TI’s DSPs to perform continuous testing and verification of code.
Time savings come from two improvements. First, the new version uses the CCStudio in process communications and data transfer technology to transfer test data between CCStudio and MATLAB or Simulink up to 50 times more quickly than before. Second, developers using Link for Code Composer Studio 2 can now construct test benches directly in Simulink using RTDX, as well as MATLAB, to automate code verification and validation.

Arun Mulpur, technical marketing manager for signal processing and communications at The MathWorks, said: “A significant trend in embedded signal processing systems is that more and more system implementations involve both hardware and software components. Now, engineers can verify designs for a software component like an ARM or a DSP, or a hardware component like an FPGA or an ASIC, using the same test bench environment, which automates and accelerates code verification and validation.”
