Low noise block controllers reduce power and pcb size

A new range of low noise block controllers has been announced for direct broadcast satellite applications.

Low noise block controllers reduce power and pcb sizeDiodes Incorporated claims the six new devices - which will come in smaller packaging and operate at lower voltages - provide higher levels of accuracy than previous generations.

According to Diodes, the controllers have, in some cases, used less than 1% of total LNB current, a voltage operation enabling use within dc/dc converters.
The devices have been developed to provide accurate and flexible control and internal filtering, as well as eliminating false switching and supporting a range of set top box designs and specifications. All six have been designed to exceed the latest DBS broadcast specifications.

The ZNBG3118 provides bias control and protection for up 3 GaAs and HEMT FET low noise amplifiers, while the ZABG4002 and ZABG6002 are low power fixed bias controllers for 4 and 6 stage FET low noise amplifiers. The ZLNB2015 and ZLNB2016 advanced DBS dual voltage and tone detectors are designed to offer a choice of high and standard accuracy polarisation voltage detection and the ZLNB254 is a dual channel DiSEqC interface for LNBs and satellite distribution systems.
